Fred began his career as a professional lines claims adjuster specializing in liability claims, risk management, and loss control, and later founded ELM Insurance Brokers, where he served as CEO for more than twenty years. Over the course of his career he has advised insurers, attorneys, and organizations on the complex realities of liability protection.


He’s also a prolific writer, speaker, and educator, with more than 80 industry articles and over 150 presentations to his credit. Fred is the author of the book Claims-Made Insurance: The Policy That Changed the Industry, which helps explain one of the most important and often misunderstood shifts in modern liability coverage.
