Podcast Hosts Aren’t Ignoring You — We’re Just Drowning. Give Us Space to Respond.

Dear podcast bookers,

Please stop hitting send on a follow-up email 48 hours after your first one. Especially if we’ve never worked together before.

I’m a podcast host AND a business owner, and while I respect the hustle, the relentless “just checking in” or “bumping this up” messages are wearing me down.

My policy has always been to respond to every pitch with a clear yes or no, meaning no ghosting, no limbo. I’ve even written about the importance of mutual respect in the booking process. But today, I’m writing this post in haste because I just lost my patience. I snapped at a booker who followed up way too soon and told her — bluntly — to give me room to breathe. It wasn’t my best moment, and now I owe her an apology.

So here’s my ask: give podcast hosts at least FIVE full business days before nudging. Respect the bandwidth. Trust the process.

I don’t want to start ignoring or blocking messages, but honestly, the mute or delete button is looking better every day.

Let us breathe. Please.
