Let’s talk about Zoom meetings and some very basic manners.
Watching someone eat on camera, especially with their mouth open, is an instant and irreversible 'Oh, HELL NO!' for me.
At that moment, credibility isn’t reduced.
It’s gone.
If you wouldn’t do it in a professional, in-person meeting, don’t do it on Zoom. This isn’t a lunch counter. It’s a shared workspace where attention, respect, and presence still matter.
There are simple solutions:
Mute yourself
Turn your camera off
Or wait until the meeting ends
Remote work didn’t eliminate professional standards. It just changed the room we’re in.
So what do you do when this happens?
Do you stay and tolerate it?
Do you excuse yourself?
Do you quietly cross these people off your “future collaboration” list?
I’m genuinely curious where people draw the line.
